Description
"This is a wonderful teatime snack," Pratibha says. "You can eat it just as it is or with a dollop of low-fat or fat-free yogurt or low-fat soft fresh cheese.
Ingredients:
- 1� cup roasted chana dal
- � tsp turmeric powder
- � tsp cumin seeds
- 1 small onion chopped fine
- 1 green chili chopped fine and remove the seeds
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh coriander leaves
- 4-5 curry leaves
- 1� tbsp olive oil
- � tsp brown sugar (optional)
- Salt to taste
Preparation:
- In a large pan heat oil and add cumin seeds, sputter. Then add the curry leaves, fry a little ,and then add onion, chillies and fry; add turmeric powder. Add salt and sugar. Now add the roasted chana dal and fry for 1-2 minutes; stir often so as not to burn the roasted dal. Finally, just before taking off from the fire add coriander leaves.
