Goshawk Ridge

Even though today is Saturday I went for a hike. Since I can hike on a week day when the trails are less crowded, I generally avoid the weekend. But this morning’s sunny, calm, warm weather was just too good to miss, and my friend and neighbor Nancy suggested that we go hiking together.

I introduced her to the Goshawk Ridge Trail. Only open since 2009, this new trail soon became familiar to me and is one of my favorite hikes. Just six miles from the apartments at Tantra Lake where Nancy and I live, this trail starts at the Eldorado Mountain Yoga Ashram in Eldorado Canyon. The trail makes a 3.1 mile loop through meadows and open forest, sunshine and shade, easy and moderately difficult hiking. I love its variety.
