The Carolyn Holmberg Preserve is a Boulder County Open Space where even in winter I usually find raptors, often hawks and sometimes eagles. I found a bald eagle on my visit there this week.

The county leases much of the preserve to Rock Creek Farm. In Boulder County where you find farms you also find prairie dogs. They are what draw the raptors here.

When I walked down the road after leaving the preserve I passed a farm building at sunset.

Even in winter we can find beauty if we get out and look.
